PetePete Cervantes was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. His high school years were 1965-1969. Pete attended Lillis High School for his first two years before transferring to De La Salle High to complete his education. He was a four-year varsity team letterman and competed in the class 2 division.

PeteCoach Cervantes enlisted in the US Air Force in 1969. He continued wrestling for the 22d Strategic Air Command Squadron while stationed at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California.

PeteCoach Cervantes is married to Alyce. They have been together for 39 years and have two children, Victoria and Pete Jr.

PetePete started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Faith Lutheran High School from 1983-1987. He then had the good fortune of meeting Coach Tim Jeffries and Mike Garcia in 1995 and through their encouragement became a volunteer coach.  He was the 2003 Nevada Assistant Coach of the Year and 2007 Summerlin Children’s Forum Honoree Volunteer.
